About me
I am a developmental editor with more than 20 years’ experience guiding authors and author teams through the entire editorial process, from manuscript to final page proofs. I have written English, Spanish, and bilingual instructional and cultural content, and managed teams of copy editors, proofreaders, and writers for both digital and print products.
I have also spent many years in the film industry, as a festival curator, producer, and script consultant. Since 2017, I have been advising authors of award-winning fiction in English and Spanish on how to manage subsidiary rights, such as translations and adaptations to screen or stage.
I am the author of journal articles, essays, and anthology chapters, as well as the book Aesthetics and Politics in the Mexican Film Industry (Palgrave Macmillan). I have taught language, literature, culture, and cinema courses at universities including the University of California, Davis; Tulane University; and Salem State University. I received a BA in Romance Linguistics, an MA in literature, and a PhD focused on media and cultural studies.
